A place to learn and grow together

Mt. Gerizim School is a low-fee school that provides access to quality and holistic education to children between the ages of 3 and 15 in remote and post-conflict areas of Palabek Kal Sub-county in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda

Wholistic Approach of Education

Academics

We have  ECD for children aged 3 to 5  i.e. Baby, Middle, and Top class, Primary section currently has six classes i.e. Primary one up to Primary six and next year, 2025 we will sit for national exams .

Leadership and Life Skills Training

We train learners in: Public speaking,  teamwork, Conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, Christian-based ethical leadership principles, Confidence-building and decision-making skills.

Entrepreneurship

Learners are introduced to  entrepreneurship, basic financial literacy concepts such as money management, budgeting, and saving through hands on experience in small-scale business projects.

Co-curricular

Learners are provided opportunities  to learn and practice sports, music, dance and drama that enables them to appreciate different languages and cultures, enhancing their linguistic and cross cultural competence.

Our Objectives

Fight poverty through education and economic empowerment.

Enhance academic performance and holistic development of learners by incorporating 21st-century skills.

Increase enrolment and retention rates of children in school.

Improve parental involvement in their children's education.

About our director

 Acomo Alice is an Acholi by tribe from Palabek Kal, Lamwo District in Northern Uganda. She was born in 1991 at her grandfather’s home because her father had rejected the pregnancy. At the age of one year and five months old, her mother left me with her parents and was  raised by her grandparents until her grandfather, who was the only breadwinner for the family, was killed during the war in 2004…
